Lelutung Tokak (Tabernaemontana macrocarpa Jack.) sebagai Sumber Zat Bioaktif Antioksidan dan Antikanker

Abstrak

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas biologis ekstrak (n-heksan, etilasetat, etanol dan air) batang Lelutung Tokak (Tabernaemontana macrocarpa Jack.) sebagai antioksidan dan antikanker. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada empat ekstrak batang T. Macrocarpa Jack.yang memiliki aktivitas antioksidan dan antikanker. Hasil uji aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode brine shrimp lethality test (BSLT) menunjukkan nilai LC50 untuk ekstrak n-heksan, etil asetat, etanol dan air batang lelutung tokak secara berturut-turut adalah 567,89; 119,34; 120,56 dan 156,44 bpj; dengan metode DPPH secara berturut-turut adalah 653,54; 48,10; 53,32 dan 121,02 bpj. Hasil uji antikanker menunjukkan bahwa nilai IC50 ekstrak etil asetat dan etanol secara berturut-turut adalah 6,039 dan 7,145 bpj. Hasil analisis fitokimia menunjukkan bahwa pada keempat ekstrak batang lelutung tokak.mengandung senyawa alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin dan tanin. Dari penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan ekstrak etil asetat dan etanol memiliki aktivitas antikanker dan antioksidan yang sangat tinggi.
