The purpose of this study is the use of essential oil content of medicinal plants in Indonesia, namely rind lime as deodorant roll on for antiseptic bactericidal effect. The aim of this study was to produce a formula that is stable physically and chemically and also safe products. Essential oil quality test carried out by the determination of physical parameters such as identity, organoleptic and solubility. Antiseptic test was carried out by measuring the diameter of the inhibition zone of deodorant preparations at a concentration of 1-7% volatile oil against Staphylococcus aureus using agar diffusion method. The results showed that preparations with HPC-m as a thickening agent gave inhibition zone of 10.90-12.26 mm, while carbomer 940 did not have an activity in the third month, whereas the irritation test did not display irritation. The results of an accelerated stability test at room temperature and the temperature of 40 °C on the preparation resulted in organoleptic with a yellowish white color and a distinctive smell of lime. The best formula of the preparation of deodorant was the formula III with the concentration of thickening agent HPC-m of 4%, The preparation has a viscosity of 5,200 cps at room temperature and 5,940 cps at 40°C, has pseudoplastis characteristic, with pH value of 4.55 at room temperature and pH value of 5.22 at temperature of 40oC. While carbomer 940 obtained a low ability to spread. Therefore, it can be considered as semi-solid preparations.
