Standardization of the extract is conducted to assure the uniformity of the efficacy and to improve the quality of the herbal medicine. The aims of this study were to determine the values of specific and nonspecific parameter of the standardized extract of cultivated Ipomoea reptans Poir. leaves from Sardonoharjo, Sleman, DIY. The Ipomoea reptans Poir was harvested at the age of ± 25-30 days. Extraction was performed by maceration method using ethanol 96%. Specific parameters include the organoleptic tests, chromatography profile, concentration of the marker compound. The result showed that the standardized extract of cultivated Ipomoea reptans Poir. leaves from Sardonoharjo, Sleman, DIY has moisture content value of 16.45 ±0.05% with the density of the extract was 3.26±3.37x10-3 g/mL and the total ash value of 4.52± 0.77%. There was no ethanol residue detected in the extract. Furthermore, the values of microbial contamination, mold and yeast contamination, coliform contamination and metal contamination such as Pb and Cd in the extract were below the maximum standard of BPOM. Based on the chromatogram evaluation using TLC-densitometry, the concentration value of β-karoten in the extract was 5.7 % w/w. The IC50 value of extract was 178.3 μg/ mL.
