Potensi Minyak Atsiri Temu Kunci (Kaempferia pandurata) dan Komponennya sebagai Pelangsing Aromaterapi

Abstrak

Temu kunci (Kaempferia pandurata) merupakan salah satu tanaman aromatik Indonesia yang mengandung minyak atsiri. Penelitian ini bertujuan memisahkan senyawa yang terkandung dalam minyak atsiri temu kunci dan menganalisis potensi senyawa aktifnya sebagai pelangsing aromaterapi. Minyak atsiri diperoleh dari hasil distilasi uap rimpang temu kunci dan rendemen yang diperoleh sebesar 0,5% (v/b). Minyak atsiri difraksionasi menggunakan kromatografi kolom dan diperoleh 7 fraksi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis kromatografi gas-spektrometer massa, komponen utama minyak atsiri temu kunci adalah o-simena, sedangkan komponen utama pada fraksi 1 adalah limonena. Fraksi 1, kamfor, dan minyak atsiri diuji aktivitasnya sebagai pelangsing aromaterapi secara in vivo menggunakan tikus putih jantan dewasa Sprague Dawley. Inhalasi kamfor dan minyak atsiri menunjukkan kecenderungan respons peningkatan bobot badan tikus yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kontrol positif (pakan tinggi kolesterol). Kelompok tikus yang diinhalasi fraksi 1 memberikan respons peningkatan bobot badan terendah walau tak berbeda nyata, yakni 47% (b/b) dengan konsumsi pakan terendah setiap minggunya (P<0,05). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa fraksi 1 berpotensi sebagai pelangsing aromaterapi.
